Consumer Broadband Adoption Trends

Broadband technology is a powerful tool that Florida residents are using on a daily basis because of the value that it brings to their lives. Connect Florida is working to make high-speed Internet available statewide, while empowering every Florida resident to use broadband to enrich their lives.

To achieve these goals, Connect Florida has conducted a survey of 1,203 residents across the state to see if they access broadband, and if so, how they are using it. Based on this data, we estimate that approximately 4.1 million adults statewide do not have home broadband service, and adoption varies significantly across socioeconomic lines. The Residential Technology Assessments were conducted as part of the State Broadband Initiative (SBI) grant program, funded by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA).
