Data Collection
Following National Telecommunications and Information Administration’s (NTIA) guidelines for the Notice Of Funding Availability (NOFA) for the State Broadband Data and Development (SBDD) grant program, Connect Florida requests data on your broadband services. As the State of Florida’s mapping agent we are developing both a statewide broadband availability map and collecting the data in accordance with the Technical Appendix of the SBDD NOFA (and subsequent clarification). We will distribute data request forms to each broadband provider to help with the data collection process. While these forms satisfy the mapping initiative objectives of this, we are prepared to receive data in formats other than those suggested in our template forms. For example, we can convert Auto CAD .dwg files, Map Info files, etc. If any of the requested data points or attributes are unclear (or difficult for you to provide) we can assist. We welcome the opportunity to work with you to identify alternate solutions as may be necessary. Our intention is to make this process as easy as possible for each broadband provider. Together, we can contribute to the development of Florida's statewide broadband map and collectively satisfy the data collection requirements of NTIA. Please contact us at datacollection@connect-florida.org.
